It seems silly to review a JANE AUSTEN classic - of course it’s going to be good. And it was! I listened to the audio and enjoyed it very much. I will say that Anne frustrated me a lot toward the beginning because I wanted her to have more spunk. But toward the end I understood her better. Same with Captain Wentworth. Neither of these characters won me like Elizabeth/Darcy and Emma/Knightly (my favorite), but I did come to like them in the end and thought the way their story ended was really sweet.

Persuasion was most definitely worth my reading time. It does not top Pride & Prejudice, by any means. I did not swoon over Mr. Wentworth, although, I was rooting for him and Anne. It read smoothly, and quickly while I was anchored in by the character of Anne along with the added presence of Mr. Wentworth. I definitely was engaged throughout, and found it be such an enjoyable read that I could not help but express this book as “most excellent” for entertainment. I do recommend it to be apart of others’ classic reading list.

This was a great classic read and the plot was simple. Was very slow as expected so somewhat hard to get through.

Given that the plot depends on complicated nuances in social interactions, and how they are read and misread by a variety of characters who are all constrained from saying what they actually think -- it was NOT the best choice to put this book down for months at a time. By the time I picked it back up again, I could no longer remember what everybody thought that everybody else was thinking. Which caused me to put it down once more...
