Death, Sexual Content, Violence
I will preface this to say that the opions are my own and others may enjoy this story. Having previously read other Romance BDSM novels (Cherise Sinclairs' Club Shadowlands series among others), I knew roughly what to expect with the premise of this book.
The format of this book takes a much darker dive into kinks and tropes. It has an intriguing but predictable story format, and the overall execution was lacklustre for me.
The Scenes were executed ok, although I felt detached from them. The writing was almost just scratching the surface of how dark, depraved, and sexy the scenes could actually be. Having recently read House of Whispers and it went to all of the dark and depraved places, I felt underwhelmed after finishing this story.
I also struggled to find anything relatable to both main and side characters. Honestly, I found myself rooting for them to get
caught at times.
Unfortunately, I also guessed the plot twist at the end, I already had a feeling the FMC may have been pulling more strings with how domineering her character could be at times. It also throws into the mix - who was really in charge in their relationship
Overall, this book wasn't for me, the storytelling seemed
superficial. As a dark romance, I've read darker. As an erotic romance, I've read more erotic.
