this comic made me insanely happy. it keeps the original vibe of the TV show, the characters feel so real. the story is so fresh and i love the modernized take

I’m in love.

The thing about Buffy being off the air for nearly 20 years... is that it’s been off the air for nearly 20 years. Nothing can ever touch the original, but it’s been long enough to create plenty of space for reboots, retelling, and reimaginings.

This is a brand new version of Buffy that feels incredibly devoted to the spirit of the original, but is wildly different in terms of plot. This doesn’t resemble the original arc of Buffy, and it isn’t supposed to. Instead, we get to see new characters portrayed in really fun new ways, while playing with ideas of how these characters might turn out if things had been different here or there.

I reiterate: this isn’t “””CANON BUFFY””” but it’s a hell of a lot of fun and it has so much potential. I hope it runs for a very long time. I can’t wait to see the Scooby gang bond and change and grow in a whole new way.

Nice art, interesting story. Not quite what I’m used to from the TV show but still awesome.

(i read all 6 of them but don’t wanna count them individually) at the beginning i enjoyed the changes made to make a modern retelling, but towards the end it started to fall flat.

It was cool. Nothing spectacular in my opinion. If anything it just brought on the urge to watch the show and some nostalgia. I also think the time jumps forward a lot like they were trying to fit everything into one thing without any development.

rep: side character in a f/f relationship, black side characters. (they show up in a few scenes, but not a lot).

Liking the modern twists on the traditional Buffy story.

A nice Cordelia, gay willow in High School, new boyfriend for Buffy....to name few changes. Will read more.

Everything is so different in this, but that will never stop me from reading a btvs comic... need to read the next one... like now!

This was much better than I was expecting. Kinda weird to see faces of characters we got to know later on in the show but fun at the same time. The "voices" for each character are pretty in point with the originals and that's awesome. Can't wait to read volume two.

Oh man. This was so much fun. I didn’t expect the spirit of the writing to be captured so well. I love that this really feels like Buffy but is also so fresh. Can’t wait to keep reading.
