So good!! Unlike the first three books in the series loved that this one had a court case. Gave the book a different feel. We still had a serial murders to solve but it was a nice change of pace. I couldn’t stop reading!

This mystery is book 4 in the Women's Murder Club series. As usual, I loved the short chapters, but I felt like this contained a lot of fluff and too many things that had nothing to do with the main investigation. Also, I listened to the audio book, which has some sound effects/music, not tons, but enough that it was annoying to listen too at the speed I listen my audio books at. I wish there was a way to turn these off... Also, the male author writing of the FMC is laughable at best, you can feel that a man is writing her.

Συγκριτικά με την αποτυχημένη προσπάθεια του 3ου βιβλίου της σειράς της Γυναικείας Λέσχης Φόνων, η "4η Ιουλίου" αποτελεί μια σημαντική βελτίωση.

Ένα γεγονός που ίσως βοηθάει είναι ότι ουσιαστικά έχουμε δύο υποθέσεις να τρέχουν παράλληλα. Από τη μία είναι ένα δικαστήριο που εμπλέκεται η Λίνζι λόγω μιας "λανθασμένης" απόφασης πάνω στο καθήκον και από την άλλη μια υπόθεση με έναν κατά συρροή δολοφόνο που ταλαιπωρεί μια μικρή κοινωνία και η οποία συνδέεται ίσως με μια παλιά υπόθεσή της. Η ροή της ιστορίας κυλάει γρήγορα, χωρίς να κουράζει, και το βιβλίο διαβάζεται αρκετά εύκολα και ευχάριστα

Η ιστορία είναι ένα μείγμα δικαστικού δράματος (στα κομμάτια πού αφορούν τη δική) με το κλασικό αστυνομικό μυθιστόρημα που μας έχει συνηθίσει ο Πάτερσον. Είναι γεγονός ότι το κομμάτι της δίκης είναι κάπως περιορισμένο σε μέγεθος σε σύγκριση με την άλλη υπόθεση και σε κάποια σημεία μου έδωσε την εντύπωση ότι είχε κάποια κενά. Αντιθέτως το κομμάτι της υπόθεσης του σειριακού δολοφόνου είναι καλύτερα γραμμένο και, αν και δεν το περίμενα, όπως προκύπτει στο τέλος της υπόθεσης, πείστηκα για τα κίνητρα του και μου φάνηκαν αρκετά "ρεαλιστικά".

Στα αρνητικά του βιβλίου, για άλλη μια φορά δεν έχουμε κάποια σπουδαία εξέλιξη του χαρακτήρα της Λινζι. Επίσης έχει αρχίσει να με εκνευρίζει και να με κουράζει αφάνταστα η κεφαλαιοποίηση που κάνει στα βιβλία του ο Πάτερσον. Σε 394 σελίδες έχουμε 145 κεφάλαια, χωρίς κανένα απολύτως νόημα πέρα απ' το να αυξηθεί τεχνηέντως το μέγεθος του βιβλίου. Πολύ φτηνό τρικ.

Another Excellent Read

This was a page Turner and kept me guessing till the end. Even when I had part of it figured out I still did see the stunning conclusion coming!

Easy to read and follow - they don’t take much brain power. The chapters are really short which I think is what makes me push through the books because it doesn’t feel like I’m really reading a lot at all.

Kind of disappointed the actual women's murder club wasn't really included in this book. Claire and Cindy are important to the story line and I feel like they were left out because the authors weren't really sure what to do after killing off Jill in the previous book. I'm interested to see how Yuki plays a role in the next book.

I also felt like there were pieces missing. What was seen in the photo room? What happened to Alison? What about Lindsay's sister? How does she feel about her friend being a murderer?

This was probably my least favorite women's murder club book so far unfortunately.
