Such a well-articulated and interesting science book. The author has an incredible ability to create a sense of awe and fascination. I liked the personal experience that he added. The book really had me thinking.

Good overall history, wrong and carelessly researched in many specifics.

This book contains a LOT of very technical information, but it's written and presented in a way that makes it readable by regular folks.

Took a while to finish. Meaty read, but I’m wiser for it. Lined back to back with Emperor of All Maladies, Mukherjee completes the narrative arc of the story with a glimpse into the future. I was familiar with CRISPR like tech on a superficial level earlier, however after this book, I feel much more involved with the current rendezvous on eugenics. Must read!

Just because we can
Alter our genes doesn't mean
That we should do it.
