The weakest mystery in the series so far, and I personally don't find the "romance" between Nelson and Ruth compelling at all. A previous review said it, Nelson and Michelle should just be in an open marriage! Ruth's internalized misogyny and fat phobia, and Nelson's bigotry are grating and pull me out of the narrative.

Great mystery... I had no idea who the killer was! Though I sometimes wish that Nelson and Ruth would just make a decision and move on with their lives, I still enjoyed this one immensely.

An old friend of Ruth contacts her to get together, as the friend is attending a class for people to become bishops.

Not that Ruth knows any submissive women. She's proud to say that she hasn't even read Fifty Shades of Grey

As far as murder mysteries go, The Woman in Blue was not a stand-out for me. Even if you ignore Ruth's internalized misogyny and the repeatedly shoe-horned  'diversity,' Griffiths struggles to create tension or provide convincing motivations for her characters. I also resented the unnecessary romance sub-plots...man, this really didn't need to be 350 pages long.

My copy also had multiple typos in it? I reckon I should probably stop trying to go on 'blind-dates-with-a-book.'

Another fantastic story in the Ruth Galloway series. This one has a key focus of religion and is a key turning point for some of the characters.
