****ARC REVIEW****

This Why Choose Romance, was just what the doctor ordered. Especially when one of the sexy hockey hunks is a Grump (I am a sucker for a good Grump).

Life is literally just handing it to Charlotte, an elementary school teacher who is aspiring to make Lingerie for curvy women. When we first meet Charlotte, we learn that her boyfriend has been cheating on her and she has been kicked out of their apartment (even though she pays the rent). In a bind and with the spare key to her brother's former apartment, she plans to hide out there for a few days while his roommates are away for their road hockey games. If she thought things were tough now, she hasn't experienced anything yet.

While I know that this is a "why chose," I am totally choosing Jace—he the Grump to Charlotte's sunshine, and let's be honest, it's always more fun when the Grump finally breaks. I love the way that these authors brought him to life. He is the one with the most on the line, and he has the best "F it" moment. But to watch him struggle and finally come to terms with his decisions was written in such a way that I, as the reader, felt what he was feeling.

Next up is Roman, and probably because he is the goalie, Roman not only has to work through his feelings for Charlotte and his friendship with Harrision (Charlotte's older and over-bearing, overprotective brother), but he also has to deal with new feelings he never expected. Watching him come to terms with all of these feelings was written beautifully.

Matteo, He is the not-so-serious one; he is there to break the tension. While he might be the jokester of the trio, he will have your back no questions asked and it doesn't sit well with him when anyone goes after any part of his found family. He carries with him an "I am who I am" attitude, and it isn't just talk. Reading him for who he is without apology is refreshing.

This novel was banter and spice and everything nice!

Spice and hockey always go fantastic together. My Brother’s Team Mates by Melissa Ivers and Lasairiona McMaster is an incredibly alluring, funny and sweet why choose story. There is bi-awakening for two main male characters, my brother’s best friend trope and close proximity trope. The main female character also comes into her own and realizes she’s a baddie.
The story starts out with Charlie finding out her boyfriend of two years has been cheating on her. On top of that, he kicked her out and didn’t even wait until she left the apartment to start banging the guy he was cheating on her with. She is now homeless and decides to stay in her brother’s old apartment until she figures out what to do next. During her stay there, her brother’s teammates and previous roommates show up and allow her to stay with a few conditions. She has to keep the apartment clean, cook and no sleeping with any of them. This proves to be difficult as she doesn’t know how to cook, she’s had a crush on Jace for most of her life, and Mateo and Roman are incredibly hot hockey players. During them trying to balance not falling for their needs, they are also keeping this all a secret from Harrison, Charlie’s brother. Harrison has made it very clear that Charlie is off-limits and always has. The boys and Charlie eventually give in and form a polyamorous relationship. They support Charlie’s dream of being a lingerie fashion designer and her own company. All the lies build up until it comes crashing down and Harrison finds out. There’s some dark moments and drama for a while. Harrison finally gets out of his head and realizes that these guys are his best friends and make his sister very happy. The story ends in a happy, spicy ever after.
My favorite thing about this book is that it sucks you in. I spent the day being immersed in the story. The few times I had to put my kindle down, I felt disoriented being back in the real world. I was so a part of the Phantom’s hockey world it was strange to be in reality.
My rating for this novel is five stars out of five. There was absolutely nothing wrong and all things right. It was incredibly spicy but still sweet. The date night scene was so romantic and I loved it. I loved how the characters felt guilty but knew what they wanted truly in their hearts. I loved seeing Mateo and Roman exploring who they truly are. Seeing Charlie becoming comfortable in her own skin and stronger for it was inspiring. Highly recommend this hockey romance!

I’m a sucker for why choose romances but this was my first why choose hockey romance, and good LORD was it good!

Charlotte goes through an unexpected break up & life altering changes and ends up in the hands and living quarters of her brother’s teammates/best friends. Emotions run high and unconventional relationships blossoms, but her brother can’t find out until she’s ready. Tensions are high and secrets are kept between roommates and friends until everything is put out in the open. What will happen with Charlotte and her three hockey hotties?

Oh em gee. Talk about

Holy hell.

This book was a wild ride, I held on tight and enjoyed every moment of it. Let's just say this was a book best read at night. ***SPOILERS*** after the tropes.
