The fact that I finished this is a major win!! Read this as part of a book club (thank goodness). It was really enjoyable to discuss with others for sure, but not sure I would have stuck with it solo. Although it was outside of my reading comfort zone, I’m so proud of myself for diving into such a dense history of this fantastical world.

Primo volume della duologia spin-off della famosa serie Le Cronache del Ghiaccio e del Fuoco (nota anche con il titolo della serie tv tratta da essa, Il Trono di Spade o Games of Thrones).
Narra, sotto forma di cronaca storiografica, le vicende di Casa Targaryen, dalla conquista dei Sette Regni da parte di Aegon I il Conquistatore fino all’inizio del regno di Aegon III lo Spezzato o Rovina dei Draghi. Benché a primo impatto poco appassionante a causa della forma e del linguaggio da cronaca storica, e penalizzato, nell’edizione italiana, da numerosi errori di traduzione e dalla mancanza delle bellissime illustrazioni dell’edizione americana, questo volume farà sicuramente felici i fan della saga e svela numerose informazioni su quella che è forse, grazie ai suoi draghi, la dinastia più iconica della saga.
