This book lasted forever! And it took me a little bit to get into it. But once I realized the kind of family time line it was, I really enjoyed it.
the way this is written is so interesting and it kinda threw me off at first, especially since the entire thing is an unreliable history textbook, but somehow that made me love it even more. i basically read the whole thing twice since i started last year because ive just been jumping around non-chronically, but definitely highly recommend for fans of grrm novels/shows

Maybe 3.5. It's honestly really dry as it's a "historical" tome more than an actual narrative. Some of the power struggles were interesting but by the last chunk of the book I was just ready for it to be finished.
