Dark with enough angst that it hooked me. I definitely looked forward to the other books.

Doing a reread of the series after so long, and seeing I have no review for this book pains me so here we go:

From the first time I read this book and each time after it, I loved this book. Luca’s possessiveness, Aria’s innocence, it’s all great and sets up such a fantastic series. Knowing what I know now of the series, this really is the perfect couple to start with, since not only does it tie together everyone else’s story, but it also shows what the “basic” mafia couple is like. Powerful, ruthless and feared man.; innocent and soft spoken woman, forced to marry and make the best of it. Not only did this book set up the series, but it also set up the world of NA mafia. While Cora may have not been the first, she pretty much paved the way for a fantastic genre.

Throw all ur feminism away before getting into reading. From the first book I can see that this series’s gonna be easy to read, extra friendly to people whose first language is not English.

second time read: Still love this big family so much!!! rereading this book took me back to the time when I held my new kindle dearly and couldn't stop myself but stayed up late reading this series.

This was a good book but feels very basic and cliche, I assume this was her first book so she was still teething out the world and her writing style.

Luca feels like a very typical mafia boss and I am very excited to see him as Capo. He has some trauma and lacks the ability to move wholly.

To see Luca grow and learn to love his wife was beautiful after he did the worst thing possible. He seems to learn from his mistake and when Aria went into that house I felt sick to my stomach.

Aria learnt to accept her new life while growing to be a very strong woman and making the best of her new life.
