Fun paranormal romance

I say paranormal because it is set partly in this world, which they call the Void, but they don't spend a whole lot of time in the Void so it has a stronger fantasy vibe. Sweet romance. Instalove, but weirdly understandable. Fun supporting cast.
Stand alone, but there are other books in the world. Linked together the way romances Are linked, not the way high fantasy usually is.

This was fun although I liked the next book better. This book both spends too much time telling the reader information you should just show and being too slow. I think if this was just shifter a bit to have more of a focus on the plot that ran parallel with the romance it would be more balanced. This was too much on the romance and needed the weight of the plot to balance it so that it did not feel too slow when they were getting together. I did really like this book though.

3.5 but up to 4 since I liked the world building and its based in Seattle- my home town.

This story is in the POV from Elara, she can tell a persons magic and can make constructs which is rare (we have our special snowflake here folks). She and her hilarious friend Sidney are just living their young lives as entrepreneurs when Elara runs in to Levi, a male siren who sets her on fire :)

Levi has a particular curse of attachment, he runs the risk of bonding to 1 woman and is no match for Elara. The Kelpies are eating the sprites and Elara and her golems are called in to save the day but are met with politics and such. She and Levi get a sexy time but my favorite part of the story was the rave scene. Very well done and I just happened to be listening to rave music as I read it, so yay me.

I enjoyed the side characters like Grim the Reaper and Jordan the Vampire- well done.

Other authors could learn a lot from the world building in this. It's a detailed, unique, in-depth universe but the author doesn't overload you with so much in the first few chapters that you can't keep it straight.

The main characters communicated and were mature regarding their relationship. The side characters were interesting, funny, and not overbearing or annoying.

I am so excited to read the next book because I loved this one so much.
