I was interested to read a Ruth ware sequel because she tends to do a great job ending a story in each book. It was good to see Lo return in a good spot but it just felt really unnecessary. The story had too many elements hinging on unpredictable scenarios having to work out a very specific way for things to work out (which it continuously did).

Wow. What a stinker. This was SUCH a boring mystery that was billed as a “chase across Europe” but was nothing but the internal monologue of a boring middle-aged mom who kept second guessing herself. Besides that, Lo’s gullibility was entirely unbelievable. No one could be that inept and stupid. I know a series has been made of Wade’s first book Woman in Cabin 10. Based on my feelings about its sequel, I don’t think I will be tuning in.

Follow-up to the Woman in Cabin 10. I found it stretched belief what Lo was willing to believe and to do to support someone she barely knew. For a writer who must be familiar with investigative work she was quite gullible.
