Maybe if you stopped trying to be a godsdamn martyr, you’d see that.

Dark and very immersive, interesting characters, MC with one of the most consistent portrait of PTSD I've seen, I liked the romance a lot and the slow building of found family.
The pacing is kinda wonky though, and since this book follows almost slice of life type of structure, it gets repetitive very easily.

Oh brother I was not expecting THAT

First of all, Bones? Sick name. I liked a lot of the names in this book actually, very post-apocalyptic and unique. The whole vibe I got while reading was a mix of Mad Max and The 100 and I'm not totally sure why, but it worked. I just want to give Bones a hug because that girl has been through enough shit and she doesn't deserve this. SHE DOESN'T DESERVE THIS. I really should have given more merit to all of her reservations about what could go wrong or maybe I just didn't think the author would go there but NOPE 🙃 and then to apologize in the acknowledgments at the end?? How dare

I’m not normally a romance girly but I loved this book so much. It is considered a dark romance so make sure to check the trigger warnings, but damn was it good.

Bones is like a feral alley cat and I love her, she’s a bad ass FMC. Yes her personality and the way she handles things can get a bit repetitive but it was worth it for the character growth. I thought it was interesting that she was the only powered person, but it didn’t really give “I’m super special and unlike anyone else” vibes.

Also the found family in this? Perfection, I loved every member of the crew and the clinic. Mac was one of my favs, Trey is so soft and good for Bones I can’t handle it. It was the slowest of burns but they are so good for each other. I was rooting for them the whole time.

The ending, full water works. I need to read the next book as soon as possible.

"You're a river Bones, you don't break,
you bend."

I don't even know where to start with
this one. I'm honestly blown away. 1
was so on edge, then hopefully and
then heartbroken. And finally, back on
edge. Ends in a cliffhanger.
Im frustrated i have to wait on the
next book, but I'm sure I'll devour it
when I get the chance!
