Having first read The Veldt as a kid, I wasn't sure how the story would stand up to the test of time. It is as chilling and masterful as ever.
It is mind-boggling that Bradbury wrote this over 70 years ago when it feels more relevant than ever in its exploration of unchecked technology. In the age of VR and Chat GPT, The Nursery in the story feels like it isn't too far away.
If you're looking for a super quick story that is haunting in its simplicity- don't pass this up.
