The best translation in English of this timeless Medieval masterpiece. Ironically, I started reading it at the beginning of the world outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was my lockdown reading from Spring until Summer.

Произведение просто невероятное! Очень удобно то, что читать можно с любого места и это никак не повлияет на понимание сюжета.
Новеллы короткие, один день романа можно прочесть за час. К тому же, в них очень много информации о морали средневекового общества и просто веселых моментов.
Благодарна судьбе и университетской программе за то, что я имела возможность прочесть эту книгу. Однозначные 5 звезд!

With 100 stories, there are bound to be some misses (pretty much all of day 10, for example, or the rampant sexism), but overall good stuff, especially considering it was written in the 1350s.

This was so, so fun. I mean, I could deal with never hearing about Bruno and Bufalmarco again, but otherwise what a delight. The characters in these stories are such a good reminder that humans have always been tricksters and liars, lovers and friends, naive and loyal. I cannot believe a book with so much sex and so much anti church content is so old.

The Naxos audiobook is so well produced, with a full cast and music. It really feels like you’re a participant in the storytelling. I will definitely be trying more of their audiobooks.
