"A book can’t change the world on its own. But a book can change readers. And readers? They can change the world." Sarah Mackenzie
Even though this was written with the family in mind, there is so much to gain from teachers sharing books with their students as well. Sarah's readaloudrevival podcast is a gem when it comes to book recommendations.

I absolutely loved this book. I knew reading to your children was important but I never realized all it can do, with growing vocabulary, teaching empathy, understanding other people's way of life, ECT. Plus I absolutely loved there are book recommendations for different age groups! Many I don't recognize and can't wait to pick up to read aloud to my son! Definitely a must read.
Great, inspiring book that will make you a bit more purposeful towards your kids and your relationship with them. Yes, it’s about reading aloud, but it goes deeper than that. A book I’d recommend to all parents with kids at home of any age.
Perhaps my review is a bit unfair—this book probably deserves a 3-3.5 due to some really good insights and a FANTASTIC reading resource at the end. Truly. That reading resource by age is great.
Still, this book receives a 2 because committed the mortal sin of nonfiction books: the content did not fit the platform. This was probably at least 100-150 pages of unnecessary repetition and dry regurgitation of research over what it should have been.
The concept? Excellent. The content? Good. The book itself? It would have been an excellent series of blogs. But no more. Trying to stretch and scrape enough content to fit an entire book killed it for me.

I can feel the magic of reading! Lots of great book recommendations, and reminded me of many from my childhood. The nostalgia factor is high!

Great reminders here on how important read alouds are for all age levels. There are suggestions for fitting it in even with the busiest schedules, and book lists to get you started.
