Perfect inspiration and resource for any family’s reading life!
Loved the sections on creating a book club culture at home and starting interesting discussions about books. Some of the other sections (recommendations, etc.) I felt have been covered better elsewhere. It is written from a Christian perspective, so if that bothers you this might not be a good fit.
I listened to this book and it was a quick and pleasant "read". There was no amazing revelation or research reveals, but some gentle and uplifting reminders of the power of reading to one's children. I loved her stories of motherhood and how reading books aloud have helped her teach lessons, create treasured memories and bonds, and helped her feel fulfilled as a mother. I can't wait to try some of her top 20 books for various ages, some are ones I had already discovered on my own and can attest that they are favorites before bed.
I really liked this book! I learned so much about the importance of reading with my children. But also I learned how to read with my children!
The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I listened in audiobook and it’s not as easy to follow the back chapters. I’d definitely recommend you buy the paperback for this reason ❤️
