Want a book with bookish tropes but with a twist?  If this ever got a Hallmark movie adaptation I would for sure watch it… they might just have cut the spicy parts 😂

The banter was like most of this author’s other works, and absolute hit.  It was a fun read with detailed and lovable characters.  I loved how this ended and really enjoyed finally reading a romance where the woman didn’t give up the career she clearly loved just to move to a small town after two seconds of an insta-love romance.

Truly loved the vibe of this book so much.  All the shark comments and the mentions of Bigfoot erotica had me laughing so hard.

Two sisters from NYC embark on a laid back vacation in small town North Carolina, with a list of experiences to try. After arriving, one of the sisters ends up in a romance with a man she had met briefly and not liked in NYC.

It was fun to watch all the rom com tropes being openly both mocked a bit, later work with the romance in the book. And the romance itself involved both consent and sexual safety, which I appreciated. The greatest strength of this book in my mind though, was the relationship of the sisters, and how their shared grief of their mother affected them differently. Losing their mother at ages 16 and 20, quite different stages of development, allowed the author to explore the effects of grief on each of them individually, as well as how it affected their relationship as sisters. The love, frustration, and then understanding brought a great deal of genuine emotion to what could have been a simple rom com.

Well written romance book with a clever start about who the city person is in the love stories where the person goes to the countryside.

One of the best contemporary romances I've read in a long time. Exactly what I want: characters who communicate with each other and the writing really shows how they're compatible, and just enough low-stake drama related to secondary characters to keep the excitement up.
