This was such a fun book! I love the banter between the two main characters, it's very witty. This had me giggling, I couldn't put it down! I love their story, it's different and it also has a good story between sisters. I wasn't sure how it was going to end which is always fun.

This book was one of those "I need to sit in the car even though the temperature is below zero so I can listen to more of this audio book...I need to know what happens...I want Charlie Lastra to talk to me with those amazing words...I can tell Emily Henry loves books and understands readers!" kinda books. It made my heart happy at the end and is definitely one of my favorites I've read this year so far. I do feel like it helps a little if you have read other romance novels and know the tried and true tropes pretty well, or maybe watched a bunch of Hallmark movies at least. I can maybe see the characters being a little bit tricky to identify with, especially at first, but hang in there-it's worth it! Nora is a literary agent, known for her "shark" like tendencies and Charlie Lastra is a broody book editor who manages to insult Nora on their first meeting. One could say the opposite of a meet-cute even. Somehow they end up in the same small town and chaos ensues. Highly recommend!

p.233-"You are someone who looks for a reason for everything. Or, You are the person who pulls things apart and figures out how they work instead of simply accepting them. You're someone who would rather have the truth than a convenient lie. Or even, You're the person who only have five outfits, but each of them is perfect, carefully chosen. 'I think' I whisper, 'you're one of the least disappointing people I've ever met'."

p.312-"I read once that not everyone thinks in words. I was shocked, imagining these other people who don't use language to make sense of everyone and everything, who don't automatically organize the world into chapters, pages, sentences. ... How a person can know there's something worth saying but have no concept of what exactly that is. I'm not thinking in words."

p.349-353=Awww love!

I love an Emily Henry book. First off the characters have great banter. Very clever and dry humor. Didn’t love how much she clung to her mother, it seemed to be a big part of her personality. I love the detail she included with the characters. The details were so intricate they have to be real. Slightly cliche ending.

My first Emily Henry book and I loved it. I do believe that she’s the reason I’m doing things ‘for the plot’ that might get me in trouble but oh well.

I won’t be having sex so these characters might for me.

I love the grumpy x sunshine trope but this book is grumpy x grumpy and I’ve determined that it’s 1 million times better.

I really enjoyed how the opening of the book mirrored the opening of the book discussed within this book, Frigid.

Emily Henry deserves all the praise she has received and more.

Only thing is Libby's apology/makeup felt lacking to me, but maybe that's just the eldest sister in me.

this book had everything that Beach Read and PWMOV didn't, and more. it had the connection, the intimacy, the relationship building, the backstory. it had a genuine reality to it, there were parts in the book that i related to that made me genuinely cry and laugh and every other feeling. i can't speak better about this book.
