I fucking love this book. Do I relate with Nora being standoffishy and Charlie being abrupt but actually super sweet? Yeah that’s me. Do I love a small town romance? Yes, especially when there is a wacky town meeting because Gilmore Girls. Do I love a book about books and book lovers and there’s a book store and they both work in publishing? Omg yes, please inject it directly in my veins. What really puts this book over the top though is the banter, any time there is a running inside joke about Bigfoot erotica, I will be there rating it 5 stars. This was a reread for me and I might read it again when I forget the details and only remember I loved it.

This book was a breath of fresh air!!! I love enemies-to-lovers as much as the next gal, but there's something special about following characters that have REAL, TRUE chemistry right off the bat. Love Charlie and how emotionally available he is compared to sooo many male characters in books these days. 100% recommend!

A very competent romance, quippy and tropey, with some good lines. Fine pitch for a Hallmark movie.

I couldn't stand the protagonist--even though I know that's the whole bit! You're supposed to hate her and come to love her or whatever! But goddamn. I don't buy the central thesis of her loving her sister so much. All she does is lie to her, remove her agency, ignore her wishes, and say nasty things to her in moments of emotional vulnerability. I get the parentified older sister thing--I connect to that--but nah, her relationship to her sister is just her convenient excuse for doing things that minimize emotional risk. Wish the book had ended in therapy and not a relationship.
