What an absolutely gripping start to this series. This book is intense, dark, and completely consuming. From the very first chapter, I was sucked into the world of Devram: a place of gods, forgotten realms, and a magic system that unfolds seamlessly.
Theon and Tessa's dynamic is electric. The tension between them is undeniable, even if the constant push and pull had me dizzy at times. But honestly? I lived for it. Their chemistry kept me glued to the pages, desperate to see where their connection would lead.
The blend of fantasy and darkness makes this a must-read for romantasy lovers, especially those who crave high stakes, an intriguing magic system, and morally grey characters. This was an easy six-star read for me, completely unputdownable. If you are looking for your next obsession, Rain of Shadows and Endings is it.

3 stars ⭐️ purely off my imagination too. i know this is dark romance so obviously and she said it too that warning the MMC is a red flag but girlllll i just wanted so much more for her?? like he really saw her as a means to an end and it just so happened that she was really attractive. i was literalllllly so so hype bc i thought she was going to end up with the guy that makes like two appearances ever but by the blurbs of the next two books that doesn’t seem likely and that she will just FALL FOR THIS RED FLAGGED MAN. i adore axel and <33333 i would read his book bc i think he would be green flags (for the most part - if anything that would be a lighter dark romance) but i don’t think i can bear any more of the MMC. all in all, it was a fun concept and world building but i wish he wasn’t insanely controlling and possessive :( debbie downer even if he is hot. also can’t believe this was 750 pages

first things first, i would bleed for tessalyn asura. i absolutely love that woman and just want to hide her away and take care of her.

i was honestly going to wait and write an elaborate review, but fuck it..

Here for the ride and fully buckled in with the first chapter. The world building was INSANE (and I mean in the best way). The characters are all flawed in ways that are relatable and foreign but intriguing and understandable. I'm a sucker for gods and their control issues and Devram is no different.

Tessa is likely an FMC that bothers people but when you are told constantly to be something you aren't, or told you are less than because you don't fit a mold, it shapes you in ways you can't understand until you experience it yourself. Does that make her annoying? Probably. Do I understand her mania? Her broken heart? Her paranoia? Her inability to trust? Yes. Do I think her actions are warranted? Yes. Do I think she'll eventually learn to channel it all and find some control with the two MMC's? Without a single doubt.

Anyways, I'm here for all of it. The light and the dark. The beginning and the end...
