Great book
I really love this author. Her books are fun and heartwarming and pretty much everything I love about romance. This book is well written and well paced. I really hope we hear more about Lindsey and Noah in the future!

Doctor Dearest was a heartfelt romantic comedy between co-workers and family friends. Grey took the brother's-best-friend trope and softened it with humor and heart, making it all too easy to fall into the magic that the two held whenever they shared scenes with one another. The usual banter and wit that Grey writes so well was present, as always, but it felt a bit more subdued in favor of focusing on the character's and their brand of romance, and it made for an unexpected and delightful read.
The vibrancy behind Natalie and Connor's connection was subtle yet lively; the reveal of their long-felt attraction was more a simple fact than a revelation. Those elements together created a love story that could hit the ground running with ease and I really enjoyed how it worked with these two characters. Adding in their jobs and life stressors only provided greater depth to who they were individually and what they wanted out of life, and even though I may not be skilled in those fields to know any better, it was obvious that Grey did the research to make it feel real and immersive. The sexual and emotional tension felt warranted and not for the sake of having it, and it blended beautifully to create a story that was possible to devour in a mere couple of hours. Doctor Dearest ranks up there for me in terms of being one of the best that she's written, and I'm excited to see the ways she'll reinvent a love story in her next one.

After DNF’ing the past two R.S. Grey books I attempted, I binge read three of her latest novels this weekend. I love her perfect blend of romance and comedy and am glad to see that the previous two I didn’t enjoy were anomalies.

Natalie Martin was an independent woman who worked hard to be a doctor alongside her brother Noah and under the guidance of her mentor Dr. Connor Easton who was also her brother's best friend. She had developed feelings for Connor over the years but she felt like Connor didn't pay her any attention and just saw her as his best friend's little sister. Not wanting to complicate their relationship, Natalie stayed away and loved him from afar, little did she know that her feelings may not be unrequited and Connor was attracted to her as much as she was to him.
"But for years, I’ve lived in silence about my feelings. For years I’ve had to watch Natalie from afar, knowing she was untouchable. I’m still getting used to the idea of loving her out loud."
Both of them were afraid to act upon their feelings but when a sudden opportunity presents itself, Noah has to go away from town for a while and Connor's townhouse is undergoing some renovations, so he asks Connor to stay with Natalie and look after her for the time he's gone. Unable to hide his feelings anymore, Connor makes it clear to Natalie that he wants to have a chance at a real relationship with her.
"Love isn’t simple. That’s a lie. Love is a fight. Love is a plight of the human condition. You either choose to suffer it, to feel it like a cancer inside you, or you give up and you walk away unscathed.”
I loved Connor & Natalie together and their chemistry was fire but Natalie came off as a bit immature to me. She was the one who was afraid to take a chance and everytime she engaged in the push and pull game, I just wanted her to make up her damn mind. Connor was an asshole at first but then I grew to like him a lot. He was really caring, mature, protective and overall a nice guy. Natalie on the other hand, annoyed me a bit but other than that she was funny and that lifted up my mood. (especially the hilarious epilogue)
Whenever I read a brother's best friend romance, I generally tend to dislike the brother but Noah really won me over. He wasn't the typical controlling and angry big brother instead he was such a funny and easy going guy, I seriously loved his friendship with Connor. (their fights were so funny and entertaining!)
Overall, it was a good book with some great tropes like workplace romance, brother's best friend and I liked the book and now I'm going to search whether Noah & Lindsey have a book because they have totally left me intrigued to know what exactly is cooking between them.

surprise pregnancy. Though, it was mentioned that Natalie's mother was bitter and she was the one who was responsible for planting the "I don't need a man" attitude in Natalie's mind, I would have liked it if that situation was explained more. Also, there was a scene in which Connor & Natalie have dinner with a certain character which I feel, could have been avoided but nevertheless,

I had expectations going into this book, having read [b:Hotshot Doc|42439949|Hotshot Doc|R.S. Grey|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1542283909l/42439949._SY75_.jpg|66164480], but this book did not reach them.
I loved the tension at the beginning, although I find it hard to believe that Natalie and Connor had avoided each other, without the brother noticing over the years? I would have found their relationship much more believable if the main couple's friendship was there before they started sharing the townhouse.
Another issue I had with this book, was that there were many instances where the author told us what was happening in the book, instead of using writing techniques to let us make our own conclusions (Show, not tell).
Lastly, Lindsey deserves a better friend.
I plan to read more from R.S. Grey and I still think I was too harsh on this book, but if you're interested, check this book out

Brother’s best friend. I liked the second half of the book more than the first but I also liked the career path both these characters are in.
It went back and forth a lot and that got a little old but it was still an enjoyable listen.
I really liked the ending and the narration was great for this book.

This was cute but it wasn't my favorite from Grey.
Nathalie just landed her dream doctor job. So she doesn't have a social life, but she's okay with that because she lives for her career. But then there's the issue of her brother's best friend and fellow doctor, Connor. Nathalie has been in love with Connor for years but now that Connor is staying with her while his townhouse is getting renovated, Nathalie starts wondering if Connor may feel something for her as well.
Connor has always kept Nathalie at a safe distance. She's his best friends little sister and that means off-limits. But now they're both doctors in the same surgical department and they're semi-living together and Connor is finding it harder and harder to stay away.
Like I said before, I found the story cute but there wasn't much depth. Nathalie was very back and forth about what she wanted and felt like a child throwing a tantrum for a lot of the book. Then there was Connor - for someone who was so mature and distinguished, he moped like at 13 year old boy. I found the lack of communication very frustrating here, especially with adults who, for the most part, know what they want. Instead the two of them just kept tip-toeing around their issues until they were flat out ignoring each other.
But there were cute moments and those were what kept me going. I do love the progression of the story and how the unexpected came to two people who love to control their situations. It was fun to watch them try to navigate uncharted waters. And Grey can write humor. Another fun and quick read. Sometimes it's just what is needed.
