Doctor Dearest

I devoured Doctor Dearest in a few hours, and I don't regret a single thing. #noadulting

I'm in love with Connor and Natalie - fact.
They were made for each other - fact.
They are so smart, it's crazy - fact.
I wish I was Natalie - fact.
I'm 100% sure they really exist - super fact.

These two are a match made in heaven, they just didn't know it in the beginning. With Natalie finally ending her residency and jumping straight into her fellowship, and Connor not being her supervisor anymore - and Noah, Natalie's brother, leaving the city - the couple finally has the opportunity to find each other, and that they do.

The crazy attraction they have for one another is nothing compared to the overwhelming feelings they encounter throughout the course of the book.

I had the best time reading the book, but the real star? Jade, I mean Ariel. I just completely fell in love with her. Like, 100% in love.

This concludes my completely unbiased review.

PS: Lindsey better get her own book - with Noah!

Congratulation to R.S. Grey, another fantastic book, I'm not sure how you do you it, but please don't stop!

This book was just what I needed to get out of my reading slump. It was everything I need and more.

Dr. Natalie Martin is a young, brilliant attending, who just finished her recidency and is starting her fellowship at the hospital in the BICU. Natalie lives with her brother Noah. She's independent, smart, a tad bit neurotic and never want to depend on anyone, especially not a man. Despite this, she's always harbored a serious crush on her brother's best friend, Connor.

Dr. Connor Easton, plastic surgeon for burn victims, all around brilliant supervisor and mentor, oh and drop dead gorgeous, needs a place to stay while his house is being renovated. When Noah, Natalie's brother, decides to take a leave of absence from the hospital and offers Connor to stay in the house with Natalie so he can keep an eye on her.

What Noah and Natalie don't know is that Connor has also had a major crush on Natalie for several years.

Sparks start to fly and their chemistry is absolutely sizzling. The passion they have for their jobs and for each other make for a brilliant story that is well researched and filled with detailed descriptions of what it's like to work at a hospital.

Connor and Natalie have the clever, witty banter and the palpable sexual tension that have become synonymous with R.S. Grey's writing, they're wonderfully written and the two characters, along with the rest of the crew, are sure to keep you entertained. The couple go through their fair share of struggles, but my goodness, when they figure everything out, it's absolute bliss.

If you're in the mood for a Doctor/brother's best friend romance, be sure to pick this one up. You'll love it and I hope that Noah and Lindsey will get a book, because whew those two had chemistry.

Thanks to the author for generously providing me an ARC to review.

This is my first read by R.S Grey and it certainly won't be the last.

It is a combination of brother's best friend, forced proximity, coworkers and they are both doctors!

Natalie and Connor know each other for years, she has just finished her residency which means Connor is no longer her supervisor. This means that it is the ideal time to make his intentions clear and ask her out.

This book is so incredibly funny, I laughed at so many scenes and witty remarks I truly lost count.

I really enjoyed the way their full schedule as doctors was represented in a realistic way.

Natalie and Connor are mature, levelheaded and I loved how crazy they were for each other. They were very open and honest about their feelings which I appreciated.

R.S. Grey has a formula nailed down for her books and I AM HERE FOR IT. With each book, I'm nervous it will be the one that might not work for me and that, thankfully, just doesn't happen. There's something about her writing that immediately captures me from the first page and keeps me coming back for more. I'm continually amazed by her ability to tell these seemingly simple romances that feel like the well-worn ROM-COM DVDs we can't help but adore.

I especially loved being able to see the research R.S. Grey did on burn doctors for Doctor Dearest. I was able to learn numerous things I didn't know, all while enjoying a swoon-worthy Romance. Normally workplace romances are quite surface level, without much information woven into the story about the characters' careers, but this book allowed me to sink into it as if I had knowledge about their professions, too. I enjoyed the atmosphere the research crafted!

I can't help but love a brother's-best-friend romance as well. These stories create the angsty, forbidden dynamic that makes for fun reading. I couldn't wait to see how things might unfold between Natalie and Conner, and who might let their feelings be known first. The push and pull between these two was absolutely delicious.

This was very nearly a five-star read for me. My only complaints revolved around Natalie getting a little nutty at the end of the story and the characters' inability to declare their love for one another. I struggle with characters keeping their feelings under lock and key because it makes the relationship feel like a glorified friendship. I want to feel the love too!

As always, this was the perfect in-between read, with plenty of sweet moments and good feelings. I'm excited to see what R.S. Grey has next for us - I guarantee I'll be ready to read whatever it might be!
lighthearted
Loveable characters: Complicated

I liked that the fmc is 28. Sadly she acted like an 18 year old through the whole book. I understand the mommy issues but come on. The book was a bit of a let down after loving hotshot doc so much.
I'd love for the main characters to actually talk to one another, banter and get to know one another. It's basically I like how you look let's be together. The reader doesn't know where the connection comes from.

pregnancy takes a huge part of this book

R. S. Grey can’t do anything wrong when it comes to writing an excellent story. She did not disappoint with her newest. Natalie and Conner are great together, I loved the banter between the two, it led up to all the sexy time. They stole my heart from the first pages and I was not disappointed in them.

Conner and Natalie are hilarious when they are together and I love that R.S. Grey was able to pull this off without being cheesy. Their banter is awesome and their friendship is spunky. Conner and Natalie have a hard time navigating the new ground between friends and lovers. On the outside looking in their relationship is all teasing but on the inside they are full of angst and emotions they don’t know what to do with.

There is no denial in the feeling they have for one another; however, they have to navigate what to do about those feelings.

Cute story. Lots of feels at the beginning of the book. I was a little frustrated with the heroine in the middle but there is an adorably cute HEA at the end!

Note about me: I LOVE dialogue. I love when the characters TALK IT OUT. I felt like a lot of the big talks these two characters happen off page and that was a let down for me. I love the "hash out the misunderstanding" talk and I LIVE for the "I love you" talk/moment and for me this book was missing that.

Got the flu and have loved this trope-y romance to its fullest
