This one wasn’t my favorite, at first I was getting into the story. But as it went on I couldn’t really understand Natalies choices towards Connor. I get that her mom wanted her to be independent but pushing Connor away because of that. I just got bored with it when she started acting like that.

Cute story. Lots of feels at the beginning of the book. I was a little frustrated with the heroine in the middle but there is an adorably cute HEA at the end!

Note about me: I LOVE dialogue. I love when the characters TALK IT OUT. I felt like a lot of the big talks these two characters happen off page and that was a let down for me. I love the "hash out the misunderstanding" talk and I LIVE for the "I love you" talk/moment and for me this book was missing that.

I am so happy whenever I get to read a new R.S. Grey book and I only have like five more that I haven't read yet, so I'll be done in no time.
This story really caught my eye and I was very excited to read it. But I'm a bit sad to say it wasn't what I wanted it to be.

I'm going to spoil some things so... This book had my least favorite trope ever and immediately when we got to that point in the book I was like damn... Did we have to play the unexpected pregnancy card? But as the story went on I got used to it and it wasn't annoying me too much later because the whole book was centered around this piece of news.

I can't really pin down what exactly didn't sit well with me about this book but I didn't really love or relate to the main characters, the plot was kinda boring and meh, the pregnancy really didn't help and there was something off about their relationship.
I felt like they didn't have any normal conversations, they fought about stupid shit and I didn't feel the chemistry between them. It was like reading about two people forced into near proximity and boom add a child to the mix. Plus they were acting so childish, especially Natalie. She never wanted to face her problems, she avoided talking with Connor all the time and was just pretty annoying.
I liked Connor more than Nat because he at least wanted to talk and work on the relationship. He was kinda funny too and overall I just felt like he wanted it more than she did or at least he was adult enough to do something.
Oh and I really didn't like how they spent like three seconds of their day together, they were never in the same room for more than a minute, they always missed or avoided each other and it was killing me.

Idk I was just annoyed most of the time. I didn't connect with them at all and Natalie just really wasn't my type of character. She was running away from everything all the time and wanted to do things only on her terms. You can't do that normally.

I liked the ending though and the side characters. Lindsay was really funny and nice and Noah too. I would read a book about them actually... I don't want to say only negative things though. I liked the setting, the epilogue was pretty funny, I liked the little girl Jade and the book itself was entertaining enough for me to read it in one sitting.

This is my first full length RS Grey book and I need to read more from her before I decide if we fit together as, you know, author-and-reader. There was a lot of promise from this book… I liked her writing, her character development, there were some funny bits. The pacing of this just felt off to me and it contained one of my least favorite tropes ever, which I wasn’t expecting.

Also, I think that as a woman I’m more sympathetic to the heroine. I want a hero who pines, grovels, adores her. So the fact that Connor was rude (even though he acted that way because he thought she was freaking out) after they slept together… I didn’t dig it!

Also the whole mini plot with Shannon was... unnecessary. He wasn't interested in her and frankly I'd find it disrespectful if the guy I was seeing took me to dinner to meet a woman he slept with. Yuck.

Everything after the halfway mark felt rushed to me. It felt like more plot points > character development.
SpoilerWe learn she’s pregnant and they start to move forward even though she says she doesn’t want him to just be with her for the baby. And while we know that he’s not, he hasn’t said he loves her and they never really TALK about it. So that was a big bummer for me and I couldn’t believe it when the book ended with him proposing. The epilogue was hilarious, though.
funny hopeful lighthearted relaxing slow-paced

This one was rough to get through. There weren’t any blaring faults, it just felt all over the place and seriously lacking chemistry. I couldn’t tell you anything about these characters. They had no personality, no journey. Everything was so lukewarm even the main conflicts because I was uninvested the entire time.

I enjoyed reading Doctor Dearest for the most part. It was fun and kept my interest. Parts made me giggle and smile. There were just a few things that made me pause. For the emphasis put on the relationship between the heroine and her mother, I would have liked to have more interaction between the two or it to be taken out. There was a short time during the story that I felt like I had whiplash between the characters ups and downs with not enough communication. I could have done without the last obstacle. Overall, I did like this book. I’m intrigued about potential new books from this world.

I voluntarily read an early copy.

I love a brothers best friend love story, especially when they’ve basically been pining after each other for YEARS, it does take away some of the slow burn, but this story had a slow build to such a cute romance. They don’t have a perfect relationship or easy start and have a few bumps and obstacles and it’s so refreshing to see it, to see the relationship in Grey’s book all go so differently and, especially, I loved the surprise, I wasn’t expecting it and I loved that twist to this couple, it was so perfect and I really want a Lindsey book now!! I love Doctor/Hospital romances, I was a huge Grey’s Anatomy fan so i adored this!!
