This story is bad, soooo very bad. The characters are a hot mess, and not just that they are that way, but that the author wrote them so terribly inconsistent. The pacing is all over the place. The subplots make no sense, as if they were just thrown in there to somehow try to superglue a story together. The main plot, a marriage of convenience, is weak at best and the whole grandpa manipulated this thing just isn't making it work. Oh, and then on top of that, let's thrown in age gap and virgin. Because yes, she's "saved" herself for him since that kiss on her 18th birthday when he was 33. Yes, a THIRTY-THREE year old man kissing a teenager. Okay, sure he stopped, but the point is he shouldn't have at all. And then to make it worse, she feels he rejected her after that kiss, but then "saves herself" for him?! Seriously, W.T.F.
On top of that hot mess, she is supposed to be a size 16 woman, and refers to herself as plus-sized and fat even after she says she's comfortable with herself. So which is it? Because she said she was comfortable with her size, but then proceeds to put herself down multiple times. And if that wasn't enough, on top of the age-gap/brother's best friend/virgin/saved herself for one guy/poor self-esteem issues, the whole PTSD and her imagining conversations with her brother, which was wicked obvious from the first chapter. But added an additional W.T.F. to this whole f*cked up story. I mean really, how many tropes and extra side issues do you need to cram into one book.
There are just too many things wrong with this story. Even Shane East's delicious voice can't save this book. I tried to stick with it, but I'm finally calling it quits at 33%.

The humor fell flat with me and I didn't like the FMC and found the fact the MMC was a bit dense weird.
This is the first in the Davenport series and is the story of Nathan Davenport and Skylar. We met Nathan in Edwards book (Billionaire Series). Nathan is Edwards half brother. This book is so good. Steam, dominance, primal kink, emotion and a twist you won't see coming.
I loved plus size, sweet and sassy Skylar. She is Ben's little sister and of course Ben is Nathan's best friend. She has a history with Nathan that no-one but the two of them know. It leads to some amazing scenes that make you refuse to put the book down.
Nathan is a primal dominate with secrets. He has just recently reconnected with his fathers family and you can bet its not all sunshine and hugs. He has a plan.. He has secrets... He has Skylar?????
This book is another fantastic novel by L Steele. You should be ready to get immersed in a story full of ups and downs, steam and secrets. We see little glimpses from Edward and Mira and Sin and Summer. I highly recommend this book and the Billionaire series that leads up to this one

These Davenport men are just alpha perfection! I loved this story so much and I was shocked, stunned and cried a few times as well. The author really pulls you in from page one and I become so immersed into the world. I love all of the characters of the families and friends as well. Nathan is a grumpy alphahole billionaire with secrets and wanting revenge. Skylar is his best friends little sister. The two share an earth shattering kiss 5 years ago and he walks out on it and she never sees him again. Until he shows up at her bakery with a proposition. They both are hiding secrets and have been harboring feelings for each other. This story takes on a ride, that’s for sure. Their chemistry is palpable. The only thing I wish he had was an epilogue. I don’t feel satisfied because it just ended and went into a snippet of the next book. I always like to know what’s next for them; however I am happy they did get their much deserved happily ever after. As usual, a fantastic book with twists and turns by L. Steele. Oh, and this book had much less spice in it compared to her others. It was more about the outlying story but it was so good!!

If I never heard "forbidden hole" anymore, I'd be happy.
this book is crazy
She has a dead brother whom she talks to and the stalker lover who takes her v card but turns out to be a mushy gushy cute husband. I got lost in the family drama. It was a good book but I think it needed to tone it down. There was like so much going on and I was lost as to why we needed all the background story.
