I love a good sports romance!

Tobias is a baseball star who needs to get his grades up to stay on the team. Meyer a single mom and the school's best tutor. She does not want to tutor Tobias, but is forced to.

At first I really did not like Tobias. He was a spoiled, cocky jerk. Tobias feels entitled to take up as much of Meyers time as he wants and is pushy and demanding. I think it bothered me more because we knew that Meyer had a baby and was struggling and he was making her life more difficult.

I adored Meyer, she was such a strong, determined woman. I loved to see the way Tobias' attitude and behaviour changed the longer he was around Meyer and Bailey.

I enjoyed the paced at which their relationship developed. It was slow and though he was pushy at first he respected Meyers boundaries.

From the moment the coach appeared in the book I knew something sketchy was going on. I spend the entire book trying to figure out if he was the baby's or Meyers father. He was an abusive, manipulative ass. I feel like the story line with the coach was too neatly resolved in the end. I wish that was flushed out a bit more.

Tropes: Sports romance, single parent, slow burn

This book is one of my favorite stand-alones of the year! It's so freakin good. I literally stared a wall for 30mins after finishing it. It was all I could think about for a week straight! I couldn't even start a new book. At first I didn't think I would like Tobias. He was very arrogant & came off entitled at the beginning but when I tell you he completely MELTED for Meyer!!!! All this man wanted was her attention, to spend time with her, & do what he could to make her life easier. And Meyer 🥺 I love her so much. From the moment she's introduced, you could tell how stong of a women she is. She has fire in her even in her low moments. Tobias & Meyer’s love is so raw & passionate. I loved how much they rooted for each one another. The forbidden aspect of their relationship added a fun element to the book. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for them to get caught even if I didn't fully understand the stakes. THE PLOT TWIST. I had so many theories as to why Meyer was so hesitant about getting involved with Tobias but nothing could prepare me for the truth. I was utterly speachless, I didn't know what to do with myself. In fact, I had to put the book down when I found out.

If you love Nathan & Haley from One Tree Hill, you’ll absolutely adore Tobias & Meyer.

It was a really lovely, quick and easy read! It had the right amount of sport, romance and plot in it. The twists and turns were AMAZING. It was somewhat predictable but the hints are so neatly described in the book, you think you have the answer then there’s a curve ball thrown at you (pardon the pun) and you start to doubt yourself then the real story plot is delivered. Meyer is an inspirational character and is so hard working and dedicated and an overall enjoyable character. Tobias was abit hard to get into at the start I thought he was abit too egotistical but you grow to love the guy which is one of the many great things about the book!
