Cool premise but I just couldn't connect with any of characters but I did like Jack and Clementine, just didn't work for me.

Original and entertaining.
Clementine is the female version of Robin Hood; she steals from the rich in order to help those most in need, such as a Deli orphanage she had visited. Jack is an Elvis fan, an Elvis tribute artist, in fact. She is planning to steal a Van Gogh from his house, but things get complicated when she meets him and starts to know him better. Now Clementine has to decide between those little children from the Deli's orphanage or the kind and sweet Jack.

Thanks to CD Books and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ARC of this title from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A Van Gogh. A cat burglar who wants out of the game. A rich man running out of time and is desperate. An Elvis festival. And a lot of reptiles...

Former foster kid Clementine Abernathy is a modern day Robin Hood: she steals from the rich, and the profits go to funding orphanages and homeless shelters across the globe. She's good at what she does, trained by her guardian Lucien, but the only reason she keeps doing these jobs is for the kids she's helping. And now she has her sights set on her next target: a Van Gogh in the home of a rich family in the middle of nowhere. All she needs to do now is perform one little con and she's golden.

Maxwell "Jack" David the Third has a lot on his plate. His father is dying of cancer, a long-term employee has been selling company secrets, and he really needs to pull off a breakthrough in research and development in order to keep his company alive and the town employed. Also, he needs to win the tribute artist contest at the annual Elvis festival. But all of that becomes even more complicated with a beautiful strawberry blonde captures his attention....

When I first saw this book's description, my little teenage Ally Carter loving heart let out a cry of joy. After all, this sounds like an older Kat and Hale from her "Heist Society" series, and so my standards were high. Not only were they met, they were exceeded! Clementine and Jack are such wonderful, complicated characters with their own share of issues and tragic backstory, and who mesh together so well. And the plot. Oh the plot... So very very good. So juicy, you'll be dying for more with each turn of the page!

An excellent book you won't be able to put down!

I wasn't invested in the characters or their chemistry and knew this was going to be a two (maybe three) star read.

This was so fantastic. I absolutely was loving all the tension and secrecy and drama that was going on. The character chemistry was so good I was hooked! I haven’t read a book like this before but I loved it! It had the perfect amount of tension all the way through to keep me hooked! Ah i loved it so much!

Nope I can’t get past the fact that he’s an Elvis impersonator. Still finished but man I did not like it
