Some spoiler ahoy!

As the stars imply, I thought this book was OK. It has been a while since I read it, but I will try my best to review it.

In my opinion, the writing style has not improved much since the last book, The Herald of Darkness, which I have also reviewed. For example, there is still an excessive use of the word "which". But I will not go too much into the writing style.

The story is OK enough, but nothing special. What I really want to talk about is the ending. It is really not good. The final battle is messy, there are plot holes and things that are not explained, but what rally bothered me is what happened afterwards. Everyone just part ways like nothing ever happened and basically agreed never to have anything to do with each other. What the actual fuck?!?! You guys just fought a war together! Something happens to the bond between people when they go through something like that. And no one seemed to be suffering much from the horrors they'd seen, with their friends and perhaps family dying. The whole thing seemed to just shrug off everyone's shoulders like it was all in a day's work. Well, except for Sarin and Fervidious, obviously.

I hoped this book would be better and give me more, but alas. Also, I was looking forward to learning more about Braithwaite and the origin of dragons, but I was dissappointed. At least I don't remember there being anything about it.

Oh, well. Now I have finished the series. I hope the author works on her writing style and story making in the future and improves her work, hopefully resulting in more well-rounded books.
