I enjoyed this a lot! I did struggle to remember how some of the characters fitted/linked to the play or Amma, but overall it was fascinating to see such a diverse range of stories together.

Everyone was very dislikable. I liked the first 3/4 of the book, but then it started to feel like a tick-box exercise.

I really, really enjoyed reading this book! It's funny, passionate, and gripping. I warmed to even the less likable characters, because Evaristo has the gift of showing people as complex human beings, not as stereotypes or as good vs. bad. A worthy Booker winner!

I found the first few chapters hard to get into as it took time to get used to the style of writing however soon became hooked. I’d encourage everyone to read this book.
