I was not aware there was source material I needed to be familiar with to really "get" this one. As such, it started off very promising, and then got incomprehensible real fast. Which I guess is part of the point when dealing with a schizophrenia-based story that also has Eldrich overtones. But I still feel way more lost than I should be.

This was so bizarre and didn’t go in the direction I thought it would. Apparently it’s a retelling of The Yellow King which I’m not familiar with but feel like if I read it would make this story make sense. Added it to my tbr, maybe will reread this after.
