This book fit right into the series. I always know that I'm not going to be blown away, but I am going to have a cozy visit in Pickax--400 miles north of everything.

The light hearted nature of these mysteries makes them a delightful companion for the necessary but not so fun life tasks like housecleaning and cooking. (I continue to listen to them as audiobooks bc i really enjoy the match between voice talent and characters in this particular series.) Like Qwill, I do not like to cook. Unlike Qwill I don’t have a small town full of women willing to populate my freezer with ready to eat home cooked meals, so I must. Nor do I have a team of housekeepers to clean our barn, but listening to the antics of his cats makes the cleaning time fly. This week I actually caught myself mopping the floor as an excuse to keep listening. Just one more chapter. One more cleaned room.

A cozy mystery with well-drawn, funny characters. Great to listen to while doing chores around the house. Loved the food descriptions in this one.

Love it when Qwill stays in Moose County. An easy, light read that would appeal to foodies-the editorial on types of cheese was quite amusing!

This series is slightly dated now but this does add to their charm :)
