It's my fault for keep picking up novellas cos I can't connect properly with them. This story had potential but I didn't really enjoy the way the plot twists went I also felt like the twists were very sudden, obviously due to the fact it was all condensed into like 70 pages but yh not my fav

I read this as a palate cleanser between other books, and as a short quick book it was 'fine'. Forgettable but decent enough if you want something between deeper reads or to quickly finish on a plane.

DEAR GOD I HATE THIS TROPE!!!

the ending is one of the most infuriating things I’ve witnessed - and it seriously had me looking into the camera like I was on the office in disappointment 🫠 I just don’t understand how a short story set up so well had such an anticlimactic ending 

I’m all for a wrongfully accused story, and I appreciated the back and forth between the past and present of their love story - however, this felt more like an acid trip than a death row confession 👀

it definitely gave all of the twilight zone vibes!! but not necessarily in a satisfying way…
