Special mentions - chapter 13 and chapter 44 flower crown scene 🤭. This ate like I thought it would. Their longing for each other is just too much 😫 I love them sm

The pacing in this book was GARBAGE. It is not half as fun as book one, and literally only picked up in the last 30 pages. The writing has potential, story needed a lot more workshopping…
But that ending, though. Upped it .25 stars.

Okay. i feel like the book started and ended strong. Kai is one of a kind and written by a woman. the way he longs for Pae had me giggling and kicking my feet fr (WHERE IS MY KAI).
however, it lost me in the middle. i felt it lost the fantasy part and it was just a couple of middle schoolers going back and forth. like okay we get it. yall want each other but can’t so ur gonna pretend. right right right. i heard it 100 times already. and there wasn’t a ton of action. when there was action it lasted like 2 pages.
the ending was crazy and i’m still floored like what

I had high expectations for the second book, but I was disappointed to find that the author repeated a significant portion of the characters' emotions and storylines in different scenes. Additionally, I predicted the twist that occurred and was disheartened to learn that the plot surrounding this twist would be explored in the next book. It would have been more satisfying if the author had combined books two and three, providing us with the information we eagerly anticipated. Now, I have to wait a year for the third book just to discover the final twist.
