A fine story. Certainly intended for younger audiences. Feels geared to provide context and backstory for characters seen in The Dragon Prince animated series.

Didn't do anything to make me like Claudia better, if anything, it made her actions later more questionable. Didn't help me understand her better at all.

Soren on the other hand, is now even more charming in my opinion. He's a himbo 💯 and he's great. Loveable with a strong moral compass/sense of duty. He's a solid best boy.

This is exactly the type of Dragon Prince content that should exist. Young Claudia and young Soren adventuring while Claudia wrestles with her mother’s absence and father’s emotional distance? A weary, worn-out Viren struggling to be present for his children while suppressing recent tragedy and trauma? A glimpse into the time before Harrow took the throne?

More of this please.
