This started well, but then I started to struggle with it. The chapters were too long for my liking and there was a lot of irrelevant information put into the story. Disappointed with this as I like her Anna Travis stories, but these ones are just not for me.

A good story line, but hard to care much about the main character as she's pretty brash. Good mystery though.
3.5* As a fan of the TV series and Lynda La Plante's earlier books in the Anna Travis series, I have been keen to read the Prime Suspect stories for a really long time, and I am glad I gave this story ago. As I did enjoy it, but found it very slow to start, and I did struggle at times, mainly because I have just recently re watched the original Prime Suspect, and with it fresh in my mind, I made a lot of comparisons between the book and show, mostly with the actual characters, especially Jane Tennison, as she seemed a little weaker, more fallible, and less likable in the book, and I did have similar issues with some of the other police officers, and even the Prime Suspect himself.
Although I do think that if there had been a longer period between me watching Prime Suspect and reading the novel, I might have been less critical. Overall though I did enjoy it, and I will certainly be reading the two other stories featuring DCI Tennison at some point in the future.
