I have become such a historical romance girlie. Beverly Jenkins has definitely helped aid in this love. I decided to take a chance on this to see how Kianna writes.

This overall story was pretty good and enjoyable. Naomi is a runaway who was trying to seek freedom and get to her family. She meets Dr. Johnathan Doyle on this journey and he takes care of her as she’s sick on arrival. This was pretty much a fast paced read as it’s a novella. I think the storyline and how it came together was good. I was left with questions and I wonder if the other 2 novellas will address them.
The romantic parts of this story, which are not many, are not as sensual in my opinion. It’s as if the author was trying to make it historical but it seemed more present day with the terms. Yes these two had a love at first sight type vibe but their intimacy was more erotic in my opinion than sensual. But I still enjoyed this story.
