Jessica is a woman who’s gone cold. A trauma visited upon her six months ago (heaped upon a litany of others) has robbed her of all emotion and all thoughts but one, escape.

So, when presented with the opportunity to use her famed courtesan skills to seduce a man actually knighted for his book on chastity in exchange for enough money to begin anew, she jumps at the chance.

But Mark is not what he seems.

And Jessica gets a chance to feel again.

Unclaimed is a difficult read. It is also funny, joyful, interesting, sexy, and romantic.

The Men’s Chastity Brigade and Mark’s horror at being its inspiration, Jessica’s heartbreaking self love scene, and her fierce independence are peak Courtney Milan.

An average of less than 4 stars is unacceptable for this book.

A really interesting premise (virgin hero vs. courtesan heroin) that Courtney Milan handles really well ! The book does not shy away from the realities of courtesan life in the period without being overtly bleak and I loved how Sir Mark frames his committment to chastity as women-centric (a little too good to be true ? Still, I'lll take it!)
I was also really interested in the Turner family dynamics and will read the next book.
