As I was reading it I was sad that this was such a departure from [b:The Falling in Love Montage|53066661|The Falling in Love Montage|Ciara Smyth|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1570034111l/53066661._SX50_SY75_.jpg|69421272]. Particularly because Aideen was an unlikable character. Then it started giving me Sex-Education (Netflix) vibes and I started to see where the book was going and I smiled an settled in for the ride.

I'd normally give a book like this a three-star rating, but I enjoyed the ending too much so I rounded up.

I enjoyed this book. I listen to the audio book and loved the Irish reader. I did have a little difficulty when she was trying to read the text messages and you knew she was purposefully leaving out letters and I feel you missed out on that part. But over all a good book with a good message. I will defiantly read more from this author.

ok i loved this book

although romantic comedies aren't my preferred genre, this book is the exception. it was really funny and overall a very enjoyable read. it was also very easy to read, and the writing was really good.

i was also very excited with the character aideen because of how much i related to her. her rocky relationship with her best friend holly and her inability to talk to her about it, walking on eggshells in school, struggling with her new friend kavi because she didn't feel worthy of his friendship ("i was not treating you like my friend even though you've been the best, most attentive friend i've had in years. i think i resisted it because i feel like i don't deserve a good friend like you."), and last but not least, her coping mechanism being humour.

i was very happy that the author didn't make a big deal out of the sexualities of certain characters, and not just aideen's and meabh's, but also orla's and her dads'. it's like a breath of fresh air to read a book where being LGBT+ is treated as normal as being heterosexual (as it should be, of course).

last but not least, this passage from the book: "could someone treat you badly and still love you? someone could treat you badly and you could still love them, so maybe the reverse was true too. but just because you loved someone, it didn't mean you had to give them another chance." i believe the very last sentence to be very important, and something we need to live by.

all in all, an amazing book that i definitely recommend :)
