I think I may finally be tiring of the memoir.

The book claims to discuss a year in Taylor's life, though in reality it's one year and all the context that lies around it (forward and backward in time). He does an excellent job of connecting his experiences to the wider historical context, which is what kept me reading. On the whole though, it felt disorganized, a little too removed from emotion, and just generally lacking. I kept looking for more that it didn't deliver.

I was given the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book through Penguin's First to Read program.
