Wow, this small town certainly has more than its fair share of unstable sociopaths. I liked it pretty well until the end, which like Dead Over Heels seemed pretty far out of left field.

This was another enjoyable murder mystery by Harris. This series does tend to stereotype small, southern towns. There are some inconsistencies from book to book in this series. Despite this, the characters draw you into the interesting, well-developed story line with several twists and turns.

This book weirdly underreacts to themes of incest and paedophilia

A light and quick read but the plots in this series are getting a little less believable with each book.

Very much did not like this book. Everything was too obvious. Poppy was obviously killed by her neighbor to get in the club, why else mention it so early on? Roe was obviously pregnant, why else mention the womb thing again, and the physical aspects of her well being? And I just didn't get the whole thing with Phillip, I feel like she (the author) was setting something up there, but it just never came to fruition. Overall a very frustrating end to the series. Let down again by Charlaine Harris.

I read book 1 and jumped to book 8. While it was still readable, I wouldn't really recommend doing that :D

Another really good one. I figured out who the murderer was early on. And Poppy was a naughty girl! I liked the way the book ended but sad that it was the last. I want to know what Roe is up to now and if she'll ever get rid of her brother.
