In small town Idaho, from the border of washington state, everyone is either Italian or Irish. Every man ten years older or ten years younger then her, ends up wanting her before the book ends.
Very little about this plot was plausible, there was no actual day jobbing, a lot of thirsting, sprinkle in the idea that the MC is a disaster walking on heels that every man around her wants to kill or protect.

It was a bit too much for me and I didnt like it. Nothing stood out.

The writing felt like a first time author, or perhaps just an early draft. While told from a first person perspective the voice wasn’t consistent, and there was lots of over explaining and awkwardly wedged in information that would have been beneficial to edit more thoroughly.
Also the autistic representation was super awkward and really—in 2020? Should have been done better.
I really wanted this to be better, it felt like it had potential, but I will not bother with any more and will seek to avoid the author in future, it’s just not what I’m after. (Despite having some of my fave trope stuff in there)
“Sometimes Pauley’s genius took me off guard, even though I’d known him his entire life. I had no doubt he’d do another year at the local college and then head off to Harvard or MIT or somewhere for geniuses.”
Yeah, more editing needed.
I managed until chapter seven but it was a struggle

OMW! Anna is the woman I'd love to have been. Smart, funny, warm, compassionate. Victim of her over-protective Italian/Irish-American family LOL.

Anna has held her job as Prosecutor for the blink of an eye but she soon finds herself at the pointy edge of the stick when her boss gets arrested! As the newest hire, she is the only one the sharpshooter they send in to investigate the unit can trust. Add in that the first case on the docket she has to prosecute is the same male who saved her from her abductor when she was just a kid. Just what had gone on in Aiden's life to lead him to this destination!

Aiden was always a bit of a tearaway but he was a protector above all else. Why is he mixed up with a drug-dealing motorcycle gang? Why does he keep finding ways to save Anna? Surely he should be hoping for her early demise. That's one way of escaping his charges.

Now there is the added complication of a hot, handsome and efficient new boss and a grizzled, grumpy and handsome-around-the-edges cop. Anna's life thought her family was complicated and never-ending? Her love life is just about to get the same treatment!

Oh I'm loving this new series. Whilst you have a most definite idea of who the hero/love interest is going to be, there are most definitely a few other contenders for the throne! Some have similar backgrounds to Anna, others are just on the same side of the law. But will childhood infatuation help or hinder Anna's decision?

There are plenty of twists and turns, unlikely heroes, hidden bad guys and at least two "medicated" oldies to deal with LOL. Whilst the love story element may flow from book to book, each book is stand alone and there are no plot threads to carry over into the next book.

This is a bit different from Rebecca Zanetti’s usual stories, which she acknowledges right at the beginning of this book. I haven’t read a whole lot of Cozy Mysteries, but I’d say that’s how this read to me. Although, I’d say there was a bit more heat than the average cozy.

Anna is an extremely likable heroine. She went through a traumatic experience as a child, so as the youngest of 3 sisters she is very loved and coveted. On top of that, she has a huge extended family on both sides. Anna could have easily turned into a meek woman with no motivation to get out and do things on her own. Instead, she is a person who wants to help others and make things right in the world.

As this story progresses, Anna collects suitors. Not that she’s doing anything particular to try to snare any of these men. For some reason she cannot fathom, she’s suddenly super popular to the male species. This puts her in a state of confusion, but in my mind there is only one of these men who are right for her.

There are many factors that lead up to these men coming into Anna’s life. All of them mysterious and concerning. Anna is fresh out of law school and newly hired into the prosecutor’s office in her town. She’s only there a month when things fall apart and a huge drug ring is uncovered in her rural area. In her investigation (that she’s constantly being told is not in her job description) she is shot at multiple times, falls out of trees, gets whacked in the face, and meets the most interesting cast of characters. I have a feeling this series is going to be a lot of fun.

Since this is a suspense and there is a definite air of “who dunnit”, I won’t say much more. Even though, to me, that is not the heart of this story. Anna’s kidnapper from all those years ago, her savior at the time of her kidnapping, and her strive to do what is right are the important bits in my eyes. Since this series is about Anna, I won’t be classifying it as a romance. It has wonderful elements of romance that give those stomach butterflies a whirl. And the drug ring story is mostly wrapped up. But when it comes to Anna and her suitors and where the legal team in her city are going next, that’s all up in the air.

This author’s paranormal romance are my favorites, they tend to suck me right into their pages. But I enjoyed this different spin from her, too.

Disorderly Conduct by Rebecca Zanetti is the first book in the Anna Albertini Files, and my first read by the author. It’s also a book that left me conflicted when it came to my rating. In truth, this is more of a three-point-five-star read, and I decided to round it down.

Disorderly Conduct certainly had me curious from the start, but it did take a while before I was hooked. I continued to read because I wanted to see how the pieces came together, not because I was in love with the story. In fact, most of the first half of the book was spent with me curious about the story without being invested in the characters.

Fortunately, that changed. When things started to come together, I was sucked in deeper. Certain events finally had me connecting with the characters, and I could not put the book down as I powered through to find out how the pieces came together. It was a lot of fun to watch the way things played out, and I’m certainly curious about the lingering questions.

All in all, this one took a while to start, but it won me over in the end. I’m certainly interested in seeing what book two brings, as I have questions that I’m eager to have answered.

This book is similar in style to the early Stephanie Plum books, by Janet Evanovich. There’s a whole host of quirky secondary characters, a small town community, an accident prone heroine and some very hot romantic options. However, much I loved the Stephanie Plum books, this book has much more emotional depth and better crafted characters. As with all of Rebecca Zanetti’s characters, you get a real sense of how their past has shaped their personalities and motivated their actions. Despite several murders and near misses, this book remains a light, uplifting read that stays with you long after you’ve finished the last page.

Anna Albertini has been a prosecuting attorney for all of one month. When her new boss is taken down by the DEA, she finds herself thrown into situations she was in no way prepared for. One such situation was appearing in District Court and to her surprise, the defendant is none other than the boy who saved her life years ago. How can her savior be the bad guy? And how can she help him in her capacity as an officer of the court?

While not entirely bogged down by a ton of legalese, there wasn't a time during this story that I wasn't reminded that Anna was an attorney. She was young and had that sense of invincibility that most young people have, which allowed her fervent curiosity to grow wings. She put herself in dangerous circumstances, constantly in the crosshairs of the criminals she was investigating, consistently coming to conclusions without all of the facts. She may have been an attorney, but because of her newness, she wasn't a great attorney. But that's to be expected. I remember when I started practicing law. I believed I could do it all too!

Aside from Anna, we meet a ton of characters who bring this small town to life... There's her new boss, Nico, who sounds like a chocolate sundae doused with caramel sauce (YUMMMMM). Then there's the investigating officer, Grant Pierce, who seems like the epitome of a silver fox. Then there's Aiden... the guy with a bit of a savior complex when it comes to Anna. I know there's a lot more to this guy than meets the eye and I'm excited to find out what he's all about. I'm seriously rooting for him. I had a hard time liking Anna for the fact that she was bouncing from one man to another like it was okay, even after sleeping with Aiden. If the hero of the story did this, readers would be in an uproar. It's not right for us to accept this behavior from the heroine. Meeting Anna's family was such a joy because not only are they close, but they are so different and yet so supportive and amazing. Despite the fact that this was a story told entirely from a single perspective (which I don't like), I still found so much to be entertained by. I'd still like to hear from someone else though.

I was promised "a fun, sexy, suspenseful new series" and with DISORDERLY CONDUCT as an introduction, Rebecca Zanetti delivered!

I think this is a good start to the series. It's an HFN if that is important to you. For a small town, Anna finds all sorts of trouble. I was iffy about the lust-triangle when it emerged and then there was a lust-quadrilateral. Anna did make a decision on Aiden, whom she has a history with, and fell into bed with him. Something is definitely hinky with Aiden's involvement with everything going on in her town. Nick is hiding things. Anna has a threat from her past hovering over her. The head bad guy was a little unexpected for me, which is always nice. I'm not keen on not knowing what is going on with Aiden and his involvement in things. The whole lust-triangle/quadrilateral thing gave me a Janet Evanovich vibe, but not too much. I mean, I can understand being interested in more than one guy for part of the book. But, I need a decision to be made and for it not be dragged out. Ms. Zanetti delivered on that portion. This was fun and interesting, though light on the romance. I do think that I'll read the next one.
