This book is absolutely wonderful. I loved the main character of this from the first book in the series and I was so glad he was able to step into the spotlight here. The progression of the worldbuilding was also absolutely fantastic. This feels so much like something that could actually take place as a disaster in the real world and the ways in which it explores power dynamics and the abuse of power is also really good

Very interesting story, but the ending felt rather rushed and confusing. What happened to Dr. Simmons?

So how super-convenient is this ... yet still, it's kind of adorable.

We pick up close to when Radio Silence ends, with John as the protagonist, and his story is more action adventure than romance, though certainly there is sexual tension between him and his friend, and there is a HEA. Love these characters. What happened to the world is revealed in this story, and what might be done to recover, too.

Ok, not me genre, but skipping over the sex-bits that were, well, what you'd expect, I think that this book had a fairly strong plot and good relationship growth.

So yeah, I'm always going to be here for an ace space nerd. I also really liked getting more explanation/development of the setting.

I enjoyed the reveal of why the electricity/cell service went out.

I was not as big of a fan of Mykhail. He did that thing of "I'm no good for you/I'm damaged/I only hurt people. Stay away. But don't" for too long. He had a good reason for feeling guilty, though he wasn't a bad guy by any means, which made the back and forth too much.

I loved that it was from John's POV. It was very consistent to how he was in the first book (that one was from Arden's POV).

This one was a healthy 9/10 for me. The romance was sweet, Mykhail's troubled nature is not overdone and is slowly illuminated, and the story was intriguing as they bonded, fled, grew together, and eventually found a very big problem to solve together. I'm also intrigued by the author's willingness to combine M/F and M/M romances in one series. I know it puts lots of people off, so I'm impressed that she's not letting that stop her. Great book, great series, and I'm looking forward to Book 3.

I'm torn, because this book was fantastic, but for such a diverse story, I was shocked when it insulted me personally. I kind of felt like I had been punched in the stomach. In the end, I had to give it a low rating for that, despite how good the story was, because all I can think about is someone else with BPD reading this and being insulted by this author.
