I absolutely love the movie that this book is based on, but I didn’t feel as if the book got the message across the same way the movie did. It felt like a retelling of the movie with a few minor changes and additions that didn’t always seem to make sense or add anything. I do really love the story in general, and like I said, the movie is amazing.

Dead poets
Yeah because Neil Perry is dead lol
.
Tragic story about some boys from a elite boarding school and their English teacher Mr.Keating.
He encourages them to live their life and do what they’re passionate for.
Lots of great poetry and great life lessons, but the Chris and Knox love story was soo annoying.
The rest was really great.
But definitely watch the movie first, because the book is based on it.
It was an quite emotional, inspiring and also very quick read.

Would’ve preferred a little less focus on hormonal teenage boys and a lot more focus on the Dead Poets Society.

Definitely think the movie is much better than the book!

the film dead poet's society is one of my all time favourites, and i'd wanted to read the book for a while - it reads almost the exact same as the film (almost too much in places and isn't particularly novelistic) but i still loved it & it made me love the characters even more.
