Another Hardy has stolen my heart. Dex and Kee will break your heart and then put it back together again. Cade even made a reference to Dex being slightly more unhinged than himself and I’m here for it.
Shain Rose never disappoints. Every story she puts out is captivating from the very first chapter.

Dex and Keelani are a mess. There’s no kind way to put it. They love and hurt each other with equal intensity. Keelani broke Dex’s heart when she left. She didn’t love him enough to fight. At least that’s what he thinks. And despite her reasons, as valid as she thinks they are, Keelani broke what they had, and her own heart in the process.
After avoiding each other for years, they’re forced together by a wedding and a six month contract. Fifteen years of resentment and tension comes to a head when Keelani’s fake boyfriend shows up to fake propose for the media. Trapped by a sick mother and controlling record label, Keelani says yes. And Dex is having none of it. He gives her a choice, get engaged to him instead or her contract with his casino goes up in flames. And so begins Dex’s attempt to get Keelani out of his system for good.
Holy fucking fire. Dex and Keelani may try to hate each other but the sparks that fly when they’re together could burn down the casino.
One of the best parts of this book was watching Dex spiral in his obsession with Keelani. He loved her so deeply the entire time and watching him give in to that was amazing. All he wanted was for Kee to get to be exactly who she wanted to be. But he also needs to be in control and fix all of her problems. Experiencing him fighting to balance that was the highlight of the book.
I loved all of the friendships within this book. Dimitri, Olive and Pink stood by Keelani and supported her through all of the ups and downs. Shain always creates beautiful friendships and dynamic side characters. I want all of them to have their own stories.
My biggest issue with this book was Keelani and her savior, woe is me attitude. I get it. She’s got a lot of shit going on, but girl, accept some damn help! It was frustrating to watch her try and tough it out when she was surrounded by so many people who cared and wanted to help. I think it could be easy to hate Dex for the way he tried to take over, but I don’t think Keelani would’ve accept help any other way.
I think Shaun creates such real and flawed characters that you almost feel like they’re your friends. So my annoyance with Keelani felt like how I would feel towards someone in my own life who was doing the same. It’s such a testament to Shain’s character development.
Overall, this book was so well written. I will say it was the hardest of the series for me to get into, but once I was in it, I couldn’t put it down. Dex may not have beat Dom as my favorite Hardy man, but he might just come in a close second.

Not my favorite Hardy brother and the main female character was quite annoying. I wanted to love this book so much as i did many of the priors but this one was a no for me.
