Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy (The Baileys #5) by: Piper Rayne

I LOVE THE BAILEYS, BUT MY HEART BELONGS TO DENVER. There is way more heart hidden inside of his self-absorbed shell than I ever could have dreamed. His make'em laugh motto shields the world from discovering just how sensitive he really is. It only took a ball buster to turn the playboy into a changed man. Cleo would not have been my first choice for the class clown, but she turns out to be the perfect fit. She gets under his skin and worms her way into your heart with very little effort. Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy throws caution to the wind. Rayne pulls out all the stops and delivers perfection.

This is the fifth in the series. What a great series.
Listened to this one, and the narrators were great.

I loved seeing Denver fall so madly in love. Denver and Cleo were perfect for each other and so much fun to read about!

I absolutely love the Bailey's. Big messy families with messy friends and exes are my favorite.

this book had so much potential? like going on a show together where they could have either had to fake a relationship or had an entire fan base shipping them would’ve been amazing more content like that would’ve been so good to read, the continuous potential for a one bed trope and endless amounts of sexual tension because we love reading that

but honestly they got together really quick and i got bored of them just as quick and their break up was the stupidest thing ever i don’t want to spoil it but neither or them made any sense and i was just watching my screen like ????

honestly i think that the ‘i’m gonna leave’ trope that is present in EVERY book of this series so far is getting old i won’t lie and i can already tell it’s gonna happen with juno and colton who i was excited for :(

i think these books would have been better with a slower burn and the scenes that were depicted (like how they film the show, and tempt each other) actually did get described and instead had the ending just being their first time honestly would’ve hit more diff and would’ve kept me more intrigued

Denver and Cleo's story reminds me of a beautiful, slow ballad that flows from beginning to end. I loved how their relationship evolved from enemies to friends to lovers.

Similar in many ways, Denver and Cleo were just what the other needed to help them grieve and more forward. They provided eachother with a safe place to be vulnerable and heal.

Denver has a soft, romantic, caring centre that you don't expect from the no-strings playboy. It was heartbreaking to see the vulnerability that he tried to keep hidden.
I loved seeing Cleo find the place she belonged after being adrift her whole life. Seeing her stand up for herself was a wonderful moment.

One of the things I love about big family series is getting the chance to see couples from earlier books progress in their relationships in the background. It was wonderful to see how life was changing for the happy Bailey family couples.
