I was so so excited for this book. For the first half or so, I was enthralled. However, for a cute rom-com, this book did not need to be this long. Instead of a slow-burn romance, Kara and Ben’s relationship trudged along painfully.

I definitely loved the little cat descriptions in every chapter, but this could have done with 100 or so pages less

Yeah, this book is exactly what you think and expect. A PG romance with lots of fluff scenes and occasionally knowing too much about what furniture the main character’s deceased relatives preferred. But I wanted an escapist, sweet, uncomplicated romance with low stakes and little drama. I got it.

If you’re looking for a happy, safe, hallmark book, I totally recommend. Sometimes I don’t want super emotional stories with heartbreak and trauma. Sometimes I want CATS, CHRISTMAS, and COFFEE.

I really thought going into this, I would roll my eyes a lot. But this was lovely. It was definitely a cozy romance, but there was a lot more to it than that. It was a well written story with likeable characters and lots of cats. Wouldn’t say it’s a big Christmas book, but definitely has some Christmas theme, and a good feel good book for the holidays!

I went to a cat cafe after reading this book.

I loved the banter between the characters in this book especially best friends Kara & Charity.
