Sadeqa is such a talented writer. She can really tell a story. The main character in this story will infuriate you with her decision-making, but it was hard for me to put the book down because I wanted to see how everything played out. I would definitely recommend reading this.
I found myself cheering after the second page. I could so relate to her woes as a mother. Her feelings were those that almost all wives and moms have felt at some point. The story was different, fresh, and it showed how your past can definitely present itself in your future if you let it.

I absolutely loved this book! The main character Felicia was extremely relatable! Not gonna lie, I LOATHED her Husband though. He was so selfish and spoiled, I hated reading about him TBH LOL! Many parts of this book were triggering for me but it was a great read nonetheless!

I love books about how our origin affects who we are today. Johnson tells a story of a fairy tale marriage that may not be as magical as it first appears. Also, she makes a nice twist on a stressed out SAHM who doesn't enjoy freedom when she gets it. If you like a side of angst and watching a character struggle with her past to become her best present self then this book is for you. There's just one thing you have to understand: the Tarot card reader later in the book pulls up the Tower card and about how Felicia has broken everything down and will have to build again. Yep. It's one of those stories.
