Long audiobook listen. Did keep me entertained on many commutes with some memorable passages - Daphne & Roland's last European trip, Miriam locking the trunk in the shed, Lawrence meeting his German grandparents and playing in the paddling pool. As always some beautiful writing but also a lot of extra content that was less compelling. More and more pandemics coming into literature, quite interestingly done with cleaning but I really didn't like the idea of Roland giving up towards the end, thought his throwing things away comparison with health conditions was bit troubling. Entertaining enough, stellar in parts, not mind-blowing.
