So the very real problem I have with a Jenny Colgan book is they are too easy to pick up and not put down. This one... I read cover to cover in five hours on a very cold day. I like the characters, and the emotions feel real. It's nice to have happy endings sometimes, even though the stories have heartbreak as well. I like that on Mure, love has a lot of different faces.

Christmas week in a desolate island in northern Scotland.  And there is much to love.  Charming characters, good food, welcome friends, a few romances and some adorable children! This was just the balm that my pre-Christmas heart needed.

Definitely not your typical festive holiday read as it deals with some seriousness in multiple relationships. But still fun to go back to Mure and visit there for awhile.
