Absurd but delicious
I think I went into this with a warped and overhyped perception?? I'm not sure, but I'm left a little bit confused and like half the meanings of the book and jokes flew straight over my head.
Otherwise, it was funny and entertaining and light and vaguely bewildering and I enjoyed it. Creative! Continuously inventive and honestly an incredible work in terms of sci-fi invention.
His one liners felt like they were holding the novel up though, instead of specific plot.
Having said that, they were really quite funny (in context)
"The ships hung in the sky in much the same way bricks don't"
Was one of my favourites, along with
"In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move"
Which feels rather Pratchett as a statement, but that might just be me

This was probably one of the better books that I've read for school. There were parts that made me laugh and I wasn't always bored to death. Adams did a good job of adding humor and satire to each of the characters' personalities. All in all, it was confusing in some parts, but it was still entertaining and not painful to read at all.
